MAPP grows its presence with a trio of new mandates in Scotland

Appointments include Hillington Park, Scotland’s largest business park.

Leading commercial property manager MAPP has been mandated to manage;

1

Hillington Park, the 2,240,000 sq ft business park owned by Frasers Property UK Ltd;

2

Strathkelvin Retail Park, a 325,000 sq ft asset owned by Derwent London and Caledonian Property Investors

3

Junction 24 Business Park, a 70,000 sq ft office-led business park owned by Dawn Developments.

These significant appointments follow the launch of MAPP’s Scottish business, headed up by industry leader Lynne Keenan, earlier this year. With ex-Intu premier leisure scheme XSite, Braehead; Wellgate Shopping Centre, Dundee and Westhill Shopping Centre, near Aberdeen amongst other properties already under management, the office has emerged as a major player in the Scottish commercial property management market.

Home to Scotland’s largest business park, Hillington Park

In addition to its status as Scotland’s largest business park, Hillington Park is renowned as the former site of the Rolls Royce engine factory, which played a key part of the World War II effort, manufacturing engines for Spitfire and Hurricane planes.

Now a “major hub of industry”, the site is 90% occupied with tenants including The Scottish Ministers, BMI Healthcare, The Student Loans Company, Greggs, Farm Foods and Next. Recent additions include two drive-through facilities – Starbucks and Baynes Bakery – and West 1oo and West 200, the largest speculative building on the site in 25 years. Strathkelvin Retail Park is situated 4 miles to the north east of Glasgow City Centre and comprised of a variety of 24 occupiers including B&Q, Marks & Spencer and Next, supported by 1,200 parking spaces. Junction 24 Business Park in central Glasgow has three office pavilions, ranging in size from 6,000 sq ft to 20,000 sq ft, and there is land available for future development.

Lynne Keenan, Executive Director and Head of Property Management Scotland of MAPP said:

“With our focus on client care, innovation and community-building, we’ve been able to quickly consolidate our market-leading position in commercial property management in Scotland.

We are delighted to be drawing on our experience in managing market-leading, vibrant business locations to help ensure that Frasers Property can deliver on their exciting plans for Hillington Park. The site is a major hub for trade, engineering and business services sectors and acts as a ‘mini town’ including everything from cafés, pubs and coffee shops to gyms and an on-site nursery.

As a business, MAPP has always sought to balance profit with purpose and our recent B Corporation certification and sustainability-led approach to commercial property management chimes well with our clients’ increasing focus on ESG.”
