MAPP launches Climate Ready service

Climate Ready will unite MAPP’s significant operational, sustainability and project management expertise into one integrated service to help real estate owners strengthen climate resilience and unlock long-term value

The extensive service offering will ensure that building owners are pulling all available levers to future-proof assets in the face of increasing climate risk, particularly at a time when green retrofits and refurbishments are on the rise.

MAPP has launched Climate Ready, a new service that integrates key elements of the firm’s award-winning set of client services to enable real estate owners to future-proof their assets and portfolios.

Climate Ready turns sustainability ambitions into practical, measurable benefits for buildings and their occupants, preserving and strengthening long-term value, improving everyday experience and lowering operational costs.

The Climate Ready service identifies and facilitates the delivery of high-quality, impactful retrofit and sustainability projects across clients’ portfolios. MAPP brings together the expertise of teams across building consultancy, sustainability, property management, technical services and building technologies as one single trusted point of contact.

Solutions are tailored to fit the unique needs of the business in question, with Climate Ready bringing together everything from retrofit planning and green building standards to project delivery and ongoing optimisation.

The launch of Climate Ready comes at a pivotal time, as many occupiers are opting to stay and refurbish their existing workspaces, rather than relocate. This trend is being driven by a supply issue – only 15.5m sq ft of office space under construction in London in the final quarter of 2025, down 9% from a year earlier, according to data provider CoStar Group. At the same time, incoming legislation could require commercial property to be EPC Rating B by 2030. According to Building Atlas, 78% of UK commercial buildings have an EPC of C or below, putting them at risk of obsolescence. This need for quality retrofitting sets the stage for MAPP’s Climate Ready service to be in high demand.

Climate Ready will integrate the knowledge that MAPP has developed from operating a £30bn portfolio on behalf of clients. Operational knowledge will feed into the delivery of projects such as building upgrades and retrofits and vice versa, resulting in reliable and optimal project budgets and programmes. The approach will also see the integration of sustainability goals into overarching asset management strategy.

The industry has been calling out for a roadmap or service that supports the implementation of climate action and delivers tangible progress towards portfolio-level sustainability goals. Climate Ready meets that need by providing real practical solutions, across every touchpoint of property management, to turn climate risk into commercial opportunity. Like everything that MAPP does, we will tailor the service to the unique specifications of the particular building or asset, so that solutions can achieve the maximum impact.
