Following the refurbishment of Coal House in central Cardiff, the client required an experienced facilities management partner to mobilise the building and deliver a premium occupier experience. The vision was to create a high-quality workplace combining smart building technology, sustainability and first-class amenities, while ensuring full operational compliance from the outset.
The MAPP approach
MAPP’s Facilities Management team became involved during the final stages of the refurbishment, working closely with the client and project team to shape the building’s long-term operational strategy. We provided mobilisation planning, facilities management expertise and a dedicated Guest Experience Manager to support occupiers from day one.
Working as one team with MAPP’s Technical Services and Building Consultancy specialists, we helped optimise building systems, integrate smart technology and ensure statutory compliance. Early engagement with our service partners enabled a smooth transition into operation while maintaining cost efficiency during the initial leasing period.
The impact
Coal House successfully launched with integrated building technology, high operational standards and a strong focus on occupier experience. MAPP continues to support the client with ongoing operational advice, facilities management and building optimisation, helping enhance occupier satisfaction while supporting the property’s long-term leasing strategy and performance.
